Mushroom Compost

Mermaid Mushrooms has lots of mushroom compost for sale. Below is some general information about what you can do with this compost as well as what it contains. In our growing process there is no need to use pesticides, so none have been used on this compost. We currently have Lion's Mane and Oyster mushroom compost blocks.

 

Compost is sold in blocks that weigh about 10lbs.

$4 a block: 10+ blocks (minimum order)

$3 a block: 33+ blocks

$2 a block: 200+ blocks

Mushroom Compost

After our mushrooms fruit, the remaining substrate is no longer commercially viable for mushroom production but can still be used in a variety of ways. Although, this compost will continue to produce quality mushrooms. This is spent mushroom substrate or “mushroom compost” and is made of sterilized and supplemented sawdust that has been broken down by fungi.

Uses for Mushroom Compost

  • With enough concentration and in the right conditions, this mushroom compost can be used to make an outdoor mushroom bed.

  • Many gardeners and farmers use mushroom compost to improve fertility, water retention, compaction prevention, and overall soil structure.

  • Worms love mushroom compost!!
